Comparing the LG Optimus 4X HD and the Samsung Galaxy S3

This year we will see powerful smartphones with quad-core processors. This is also the year that mobile giants LG and Samsung introduced us to quad-core phones. I’m talking about the LG Optimus 4X HD and the Samsung Galaxy S3. In this article, we’ll be comparing the two newest smartphones in town, the Optimus 4X HD and the Galaxy S3. Keep reading!

Let’s start now with their screens. The Optimus 4X HD has a 4.7″ HD-IPS LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 312 ppi. The Galaxy S3 has a 4.8″ Super AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and pixel density of 306 ppi. The Optimus 4X HD’s screen is smaller than the Galaxy S3’s, but when it comes to pixel density, LG’s phone is a bit ahead of the S3. They both have the same screen resolution, so they are both winners when it comes to screen resolutions.

Now let’s talk about your processors. As mentioned above, these phones are packed with quad-core processors. LG used the famous Nvidia Tegra 3 which runs at an incredible speed of 1.5 GHz. Samsung opted for Exynos 4212 which runs at a powerful speed of 1.4 GHz. LG packed its phone with ULP GeForce while Samsung opted for Mali-400MP. You can see why these phones are considered powerful and super fast. Only their processors are capable of doing wonders for all your mobile phone needs.

Now let’s move on to the storage capacity of phones. LG ships your phone with 16GB of storage space. You can easily upgrade and add more via the phone’s microSD card slot. You can use up to 32 GB of additional storage space. On the other hand, Samsung ships its latest powerhouse with 3 options. You have the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB phones. In addition to these amazing memory spaces, you can add up to 64GB via the phone’s microSD card slot. But Samsung’s offer doesn’t end there. As you can see, you can get up to 50 GB of memory space from DropBox. When it comes to memory storage space, it’s pretty obvious who’s leading the race.

Now we can talk about their operating systems. I am pleased to inform you that both of these phones are packed with the latest iteration of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich.

As you can see, these phones are basically close to each other. They both have the same operating system and the same processing prowess. They both have their own falls, but it’s not that big. This is if you compare it to other phones that are on the market today.

This is the end of my comparison note. These are the newest phones in town, the LG Optimus 4X HD and the Samsung Galaxy S3.
