Did over-regulation get you down?

Businesses these days are suffocated by inefficiencies brought on by bad legislation and brain-dead regulators. But companies have a choice; we have a way of fighting the system. One way is to stop producing, raise prices, and invest in better markets with higher returns and less regulation. In fact, this is what many companies do and are doing.

Look at all the relocation of jobs and factories to other countries by US-based corporations – why are they doing this? Because it just doesn’t make sense to bang your head against the wall with excessive regulation, Sarbox and people like Elliot Spitzer with their extortion tactics. Recently, someone wanted to buy a franchise of our company in California. Write us and put the title of the email address; “RE; Franchise Opportunity” even though there was no first email from this gentleman and then he states:

“I am interested in purchasing a franchise for the San Diego, CA market. Please submit any relevant information you may need, along with information on” exclusivity “agreements. I have never owned a franchise, but have owned and operated any number of companies over the years “.

We will return your email:

“We no longer sell franchises in Southern California and are actually setting up units in San Diego right now. This business is too good to share the profits with the franchisees in So. Cal. Especially in such a litigious state. California it is simply not worth the incredible advantage that franchises bring to the consumer and local economies. We prefer to exploit the labor force and take the money for ourselves and take that money to other more investment-worthy places from a free market point of view That’s what all companies do. I can’t blame them. I know you get it. “

Now take a look at his first email, he said that he had owned and operated several companies over the years. However, if this were true, you would understand exactly what we are talking about; but instead we received this email.

“No I don’t understand. But if this isn’t a joke, I’ll say this: You sound like one of the biggest assholes I’ve ever met in my entire life. And you can take your business and shove it up your ass … I can always outfit a truck and do the same. I also suggest that you take a course in business ethics, professionalism … and it seems that a little psychological counseling is necessary.

Now this guy is a complete competitor or government regulator trying to cheat. Either way, anyone who has been in business before understands how ridiculous excessive regulation is in this current period, especially in California. If he is a regulator, he was angry that I was telling the truth and he felt slighted. If you were a competitor, you just wanted free information and you were never going to buy anything anyway, even if we sold franchises there.

There is nothing unethical about making as much money as possible with your dollar invested, and there is nothing wrong with investing your money where you can get the highest return on investment. There is nothing wrong with teaching society, civilizations, nations, or government regulators the truth about where they are leading this nation. There is nothing wrong with winning markets or being an entrepreneur. There is nothing unethical about telling the truth about bad legislation, excessive regulation, or outrageous litigation. If some people can’t handle a little Ayn Rand psychology to help enlighten them, they are hopeless.

Apparently this imposter or misrepresentation of a franchise investigation cannot handle the truth. You can? Are you willing to take a hard look at your business and the over-regulation and pitfalls of litigation? Is it really worth the hassle? Have you ever wondered why so many companies might care less about service, raise their prices, or just walk away early and stop producing those things that you, as a consumer, want? You do? Go read some Ayn Rand and think about it.
