To watch, watch and listen to this president and many of his facilitators, it seems that their attitude is similar to that of, no harm, no shame! Proclaim, for example. Since an apparently inappropriate effort was discovered or botched, there was no offense! Although lawyers almost universally (except those who represent or enable Trump) clearly state that it is a crime/offense to simply attempt the act, supporters of this president proclaim, how could anything be an obstruction, if/when, it was done, in sight! Whether this is related to certain behaviors, regarding Russia, US elections, hacking, Ukraine, etc., we have witnessed this behavior over and over again! With that in mind, this article will briefly try to consider, examine, review and discuss 5 current examples, in the last 3 years, where we have witnessed this behavior (which seems inappropriate or at least questionable).
1. Appealing to hackers: How appropriate is it, for a candidate for the highest office, in the country, to publicly solicit assistance, from individuals, engaging in illegal activities (in this case, hacking and/or attempting to hack their political opponents, such as the Democratic Party)? National Committee, its chairman and Hillary Clinton, etc.)? So how many times have each of us seen the candidate, Trump, do it during his campaign rallies? What does that indicate about his attitude, with respect to political justice, respect for the law and our Constitution, and potential behaviors, which are currently being investigated, with respect to doing something similar, with Ukraine and its leaders? ?
two. The murder of Washington Post reporter Jamal Khashoggi: When our intelligence agencies, and many independent agencies, Washington Post reporter Khashoggi was assassinated by the Saudis, it seemed like there was a cover-up, and our current administration not only tolerated it, but helped the behavior, too. . To date, we have yet to see any reasonable explanation, nor will we! We witnessed this openly in the news, yet this president’s supporters paid little attention to this repeated, potential, abuse of power, etc.!
3. Rate: Who ever thought that the word, emoluments, would become so familiar? Previous presidents have had to take concerted steps to avoid even the impression of conflicts of interest, but despite promising to do so, Trump has failed to do so! Jimmy Carter even had to place his beloved peanut farm in trust. However, we have witnessed many abuses in this area regarding various of the properties owned by Mr. Trump, including his hotels in Washington DC, Florida, etc.
Four. Ukraine: But if you could do me a favor. These infamous words, and especially the inclusion of the last one, is an essential factor, for impeachment investigations, etc., to finally take place. These were included in the transcript, the White House, presented, and this President, refers to, as, a perfect call. Additionally, 17 witnesses appeared in front of Congress to claim that something unusual, rotten and improper was going on.
5. Folding down: After all the fuss and hoopla that came from previous behaviors and activities (real and/or perceived), at the precise moment Congress announced the upcoming impeachment hearings, this President once again privately gave the Welcome to the Russian Ambassador, to the Oval Office. Instead of showing remorse or better behaviors, we continue to witness what appears to be additional abuse, over and over again!
Wake up, America, because this is not normal! We must do everything possible to ensure that it never becomes our rule!
