Advantage of facial recognition security system in door access control

It is not just a necessity, but a must-have requirement. It goes without saying what I’m talking about. I’m talking about security. Today, attacks by terrorist organizations occur more frequently. Once you lost, no one could help, not even the police. But, according to me, it is better to take previous measures to prevent.

Today, there are many security systems available on the market. They work on different technologies. Take different factors in question to authenticate the person. For example, registration cards require scanning barcodes to give access to anyone, and biometric access control requires scanning real human characteristics such as fingerprints, eye retina, voice, and face. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Under these systems, the cost varies depending on the level of security they provide.

Biometric access control is the new technology that depends on factors such as the retina of the eye, fingerprints, voice and signature. So the person who wants to access the system requires these factors as authentication. Biometric access control requires a scanner to scan real human characteristics and convert it to a digital format that can be stored.

I want to talk about the facial recognition system and its advantages over others. It is a type of system that is based on biometric technology. The facial recognition system scans the entire face of the person. It includes face shapes, spots on the face, distance between two eyes, distance between the eye and the nose, retinal scan and others. Let me explain the advantages of the facial recognition system in detail in the next paragraph.

The whole face, in itself is an advantage

In the movies, you may have seen the thief make glasses and pass them and access the restricted or enter the restricted region. Using this example, you can understand that just one parameter is not sufficient to provide full security. You’d better take the full face on the scan and worry about more than one factor. The same goes for fingerprint scanning. It is possible to break security. Once again, facial recognition has an additional advantage.

Scan speed

It really takes a long time to scan the eye. Put your eye on the system. Requires perfect face placement. Suppose that authenticating hundreds of people takes a long time. While the facial recognition system starts scanning from the front and until you get close to the door, the system opens it for you. In fact, today systems can scan 100,000 faces per second. It’s really good at Door Access Control, where thousands of people pass by every day.

Free system maintenance

The biometric access control system is a one-time cost system. Once you have installed it, you will have to keep a simple database. You can add or remove authorized persons easily and at no cost. On the other hand, if you use an identity card, you must issue an identity card for each authorized person. It leads to a higher cost. There is also the threat of identity card loss.

Automatic continuous scan

Let me explain, what is it? In other systems, once authenticated, the door remains open for some time. During that time, unrestricted people can enter. Suppose in the fingerprint scanning system, once the authorized person puts the finger, the door is opened. After that, two people can enter if they are quick. The same case is not possible in the facial recognition system. The entire door area remains under total security. If one has authenticated and opens the door, and a second person tries to enter without authentication, the system detects it and alarms the threat. It means that anyone without authentication cannot enter.

So like I said, security is the area where cost is not important. The one-time cost may doubt you, but I’m sure you will pay off. My suggestion is, always opt for biometric access control and, in particular, the facial recognition system. I hope that after reading my article you have a clear image in your mind.
