“My dear friend, Nom, please forgive me for my sins. It was my bad deed that ruined your business…”
Name was surprised to hear that. He looked at the nearby bed, his friend Lott had tears in his eyes. Lott sobbed the tears from him, he had a few awkward expressions as if he wanted to continue. That hospital room had only two beds, with those two patients. Lott continued,
“I know, we will not escape from this tragic situation, you have a heart attack and I have the strongest poison in the world in my blood. Nom! Let my sins come to light now. I even stole the project file from your company and handed it over to your competitors.
Lott looked back at his close friend and regretted his misdeeds. The name was still silent.
“Oh God! I want to admit how bad I behaved! I cheated our bond of friendship and made you go through all the painful events, from bankruptcy to divorce.”
Name shook his head in a shocking style. Lott couldn’t meet his eyes and said in a depressing tone.
“Your wife was having an affair with me and I forced her to hurt you, divorce you, and insult you in public. Please forgive me, I was a devil. I did all this just because I was jealous of you. You were always wiser and better. Now, in these last moments of our life or at least of mine, I admit all my crimes”.
Name still didn’t utter a single word. She was looking at the spider web on the wall and a strong expression of disbelief on her face. Lott got frustrated,
“For God’s sake, answer me. I’m your culprit, just say a word, abuse me but please say something. Oh I can’t take it anymore, I’m already on my deathbed. Nom! I know I’m a Devil I even hired criminals to kidnap your only son, and you had to pay them ransom I thought I won.
A doctor, along with a nurse, came in and did a checkup.
“Mr. Nom! You are lucky to have survived the worst heart attack. Be happy.” The doctor looked at Lott with a kind of “farewell message in his eyes” and said nothing.
Leaving, Lott gathered his efforts one last time.
“Did you see that terrifying look in his eyes? He’s sure I’m not going to survive. Thank God! You will, and that’s compensation I’m leaving this world with. Goodbye, my friend Nom!” Forgive me if I can and I know you won’t speak to a demon like me.” Lott cried again and closed his eyes.
Name smiled for the first time and said in a satisfying tone,
“Okay, my friend. I was the one who poisoned you, so have a good trip to hell. Goodbye!”
