Patio Gazebo Plans: Discover Helpful Techniques For Making A Summer House

Patios are one of the most beautiful areas of any home and you can make it even more beautiful by building a gazebo using some simple patio gazebo plans. Forming a gazebo in a courtyard is fairly easy and very similar to forming a gazebo on normal ground. You just have to be careful with the patio paving so that it does not get damaged while you are building your pagoda. Let’s see how to make a simple octagonal gazebo on a patio.

Flat: Normally most of the patios have simple pavements made by placing paving stones that are also known as blocks. These are quite difficult, so you need strong tools to work with them.

Thoroughly clean the ground and trim grass and overgrown weeds. If your patio is circular, you can proceed to the next step; if not, you need to draw a rough circular shape on the patio with the help of string and chalk. Use them like a compass.

To run: To craft a wooden gazebo, you must have a basic plan. To create an octagonal gazebo, get five equal length posts, 80″ or 85″, then make an asterisk symbol in the middle of your deck. All poles must match. Each of these posts should form a 45 degree angle. Now fix this firmly and then mark the points made by the ends of your asterisk.

Make a basic structure: Divide the circle you just made or the already circular patio into eight equal parts. For this, use the well-known geometric formula of making a hexagon and do it twice or use this method. Tie 5 equal-length posts from any material. Keep the length similar to the diameter of the circle. Now tie them so that they cross each other. You will have a star-shaped structure. Put it in the center of the circle and mark eight points.

After you have marked all eight points, you need to start digging. Or you can remove the pavement from the point you have marked or break it up very well. You need to dig the holes quite deep. Now you can install equal length posts in these holes. Place these posts one by one in each hole and fill the hole with a basic concrete mix. Let it dry.

The ceiling: The next step based on your patio gazebo plans is to create a roof. After a day, check the concrete to see if it has dried. Check the length of the posts and crop them if they are not the same. To make the header beams take 8 posts of equal length and material and nail them one by one to the top of the posts. You will now have an octagonal shaped head beam.

Bracing: For bracing, take 16 posts of equal length and bolt them to the support posts and head beams so that the ties form a trident-like shape with the support posts. Decorate these posts with artistic suspenders.

Top: Take another eight equal pieces of wooden beams and one smaller wooden beam. Nail these wooden beams one by one to the octagonal frame and the smaller wooden beam i.e. cube. It will form an octagonal pyramid shape. Secure it properly.

Deck: Cover it with plywood. Measure the windows created with the posts, the pyramidal ones. These triangular windows will then be traced onto the plywood. Cut out these shapes, though keep in mind that these triangles should be slightly larger than your shapes. Staple these shapes one by one from the inside of the windows. For waterproofing use tiles. Your patio gazebo is ready to be enjoyed as long as you follow the patio gazebo plans to the T.
