However, all of them have a high level of functionality, design and multimedia experience. The smartphones were showcased at a conference called Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, Spain.
One of the phones that was launched as the first of many products to bear the Xperia name is the Xperia X1. This is a special type of smartphone, which is known to run Windows Mobile. This means that all the Windows apps you may be used to can be found right on your smartphone. You can create Word and Excel files as well as Powerpoint presentations. You can also open attachments of the same type. In addition, you can synchronize your email account at your office with your mobile phone through Windows Mobile Outlook.
Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1 also has a color touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard. Every key you can find is properly spaced to ensure you won’t have any difficulty typing words or special characters. It also has one of the best Internet connections, courtesy of HSDPA. This allows the phone to download and stream media files without any glitches or buffering issues. To complete your mobile experience, your phone is capable of connecting to the Internet via Wi-Fi. As long as your area can pick up Wi-Fi signals, you’re ready to browse through your favorite websites right away.
On the other hand, due to its feature similarity with iPhone, there are many people now speculating that Xperia X1 will be the toughest competitor of Apple’s smartphone. For example, both have panels right on the screen, allowing mobile users to navigate through different modes as quickly as possible. However, until the Xperia X1 is sold in as many countries as possible or officially launched (sometime in the second half of 2008), the iPhone will be happy to take the lead for a while.
