Wii U, Xbox 360 or PS3, which will it be?

Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Assassin’s Creed 3. Tomb Raider. FIFA 13.

What do these video games have in common, hardcore gamers?

Yes, games like these are very popular.

But to really enjoy these games, you need a good game console. There are three consoles that have dominated the market in recent years: Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Nintendo Wii. The question is, which of these consoles best suits your gaming delight?

Wii:

First of all, we can talk briefly about the Nintendo Wii, and I say briefly because that console, along with its games, are mainly aimed at children under 12 years of age.

The games are generally cartoony (Mario Brothers for example) and many are really family oriented like the Wii Sports Resort with all the popular basketball, bowling, cycling, tennis etc. Not to mention the Zumba 2 Fitness Wii and the popular TV show The Cube. If you’re ever trying to decide on your first console for your young child, go for the Wii.

Moving on to the hardcore gaming arena, it’s basically a toss up between the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Both carry the popular games, some of which are mentioned at the beginning of this article. So which one should you buy? Well, both consoles have good points and bad points.

Xbox 360:

Xbox games are much more fun. They are most popular among 12-17 year olds. This isn’t to say that 18 year old gamers don’t find the Xbox 360 entertaining, but most older gamers tend to play on the PS3.

The Xbox has the Kinect, a brilliant piece of hardware for hands-free gaming.

It also has great online facilities, for everything from best servers to parties/private chat, which means that if you want you can talk to anyone no matter if they are on your team, the opposition or even not playing. the same game (or play at all). It’s not free, but you get what you pay for and you subscribe – great online facilities.

Playstation 3:

The PS3 has better graphics. It is most popular with those over 18 years of age.

The PS3 has some amazing exclusives that alone make the console worth buying. It can play Blu-Ray DVD. The PS3 is the most powerful machine and you can see it in the graphics of its exclusives. Online multiplayer is free. But because it’s free, the funds aren’t available to maintain the same high level of online services as Xbox. Online multiplayer can be slow and temperamental at times.

But wait, this year is proving to be an exciting year for gamers because we’re all looking forward to the next-gen console releases from Sony and Microsoft, the PS4 and Xbox 720 respectively, later this year.

Nintendo has kicked off the next-generation console cycle early with its Wii U.

The Wii U is good for casual gaming, date nights, and bored teens, and of course it’s a hit with young kids and families, but the mainstream crowd is clearly expecting a more immersive console gaming experience than the Wii U. Xbox 720 and PS4. to offer, both in terms of hardware and renowned franchises.

So what will it be? The Wii (or Wii U) to freeze the young family; The PS3 (or PS4) for better graphics and more power, or the Xbox 360 (or Xbox 720) for better games and a better online experience?
